Veldkamp, J.F..
Themeda Forssk. (Gramineae) has 11 taxa in Malesia. A revision is provided with keys, synonymy, where necessary lectotypifications, descriptions, and notes. Themeda gigantea nearly is a Philippine endemic, but with a single collection from Halmahera, and one as far away as the Solomon Islands. Themeda caudata is reduced to T. villosa var. caudata, comb. nov., and T. intermedia to T. villosa var. polyantha, comb. nov. Themeda polycephala, a new species, is described from Laos. Themeda hookeri is a new record for Thailand.

DNA barcoding, phylogeny and systematics of Golden-backed frogs (Hylarana, Ranidae) of the Western Ghats-Sri Lanka biodiversity hotspot, with the description of seven new species Naturalis
Biju, S.D.; Garg, S.; Mahony, S.; Wijayathilaka, N.; Senevirathne, G.; Meegaskumbura, M..
A systematic revision of the genus Hylarana in the Western Ghats-Sri Lanka biodiversity hotspot is presented. Species delineation in Hylarana is complicated due to a lack of distinct colour differences or striking morphological characters, leading to potential misidentification. We conducted extensive surveys throughout the Western Ghats-Sri Lanka biodiversity hotspot and performed multiple gene (16S, COI and Cytb) barcoding using 103 samples collected from cultivated land and natural habitats. Genetic distance comparisons and Neighbor Joining trees indicated the presence of at least 14 candidate species in the region, supported by taxa groupings for all three genetic markers. Utilising a combination of molecular and morphological data, we describe seven...

A revised classification of infraspecific taxa of Rubus lasiostylus (Rosaceae) is presented and three lectotypifications, i.e., Rubus lasiostylus, Rubus lasiostylus var. glabratus and Rubus eucalyptus are proposed. Rubus lasiostylus var. lasiostylus is reported for the first time from Arunachal Pradesh, India. It was previously known only from China. A detailed description and a field photograph of R. lasiostylus var. lasiostylus is provided for easy identification.

Notes on Gentianella tarapacana (Gilg) T.N.Ho & S.W.Liu (Gentianaceae), endemic to the Chilean Altiplano Gayana Botánica
PFANZELT,SIMON; GARCÍA,CAROLINA.
Over a century after its first collection, Gentianella tarapacana (Gilg) T.N. Ho & S.W. Liu (Gentianaceae) was rediscovered at its type locality Amincha (Region ofAntofagasta, Province El Loa; 21°12'S; 68°20'W, 3850 m). The species is endemic to the Altiplano of northern Chile. It grows in wetland habitats. We designate a lectotype and provide a detailed description of the species, as well as an illustration and floristic information about its habitat at the type locality.

On the morphology and molecular basis of segregation of Ceriops zippeliana and C. decandra (Rhizophoraceae) from Asia Naturalis
Sheue, C.-R.; Liu, H.-Y.; Tsai, C.-C.; Rashid, S.M.A.; Yong, J.W.H.; Yang, Y.-P..
Ceriops zippeliana, a member of the mangrove Rhizophoraceae, was first reported in 1849. It was considered to be a synonym of C. decandra, which is still widely accepted. We present morphological and molecular evidence to show that C. zippeliana is significantly distinct from C. decandra, and illustrations and an identification key to both species.

Resurrection of the genus Haplanthus (Acanthaceae: Andrographinae) Naturalis
Gnanasekaran, G.; Murthy, G.V.S.; Deng, Y.F..
A systematic morphological study of Andrographis (Acanthaceae: Andrographinae) in India has revealed that the genus Haplanthus is distinct from Andrographis. We resurrect the genus Haplanthus here with four species, one of which contains three varieties. Five new combinations are proposed: H. laxiflorus, H. laxiflorus var. parishii, H. laxiflorus var. recedens, H. ovatus, and H. rosulatus. In addition, the following four names are lectotypified here: Gymnostachyum andrographioides, G. ovatum, G. parishii, and Haplanthus tener var. elongatus.

Synonymies and typification of the Rhamnaceae of Brazil Acta Botanica
Lima,Rita Baltazar de; Giulietti,Ana Maria.
In the course of preparing the taxonomic revision of the Rhamnaceae of Brazil for the Catalogue of Plants and Fungi of Brazil, several problems related to typification were detected. Taxonomic observations and nomenclatural notes are here reported based on the analysis of type material, as well as classic and recent collections, in 63 herbaria in Brazil and abroad, together with analyses of virtual herbaria. Types were sought, the majority of which were located and studied. Eleven synonymies, 37 lectotypes and one neotype are designated and defined for seven genera in the family.

The genus Pinnularia (Bacillariophyta, Pinnulariaceae) from Lago dos Tigres, Britânia, Goiás, Brazil Biota Neotropica
da Silva,Weliton José; Ruwer,Daiane; Nogueira,Ina; Dunck,Bárbara.
Studies of the genus Pinnularia Ehrenb. are only incipient in central-western Brazil, especially in Goiás. Only 20 of the 170 taxa known from Brazil were recorded in this state until now. A taxonomic study of Pinnularia from Lago dos Tigres (Tocantins-Araguaia River Basin) recorded 20 specific and infraspecific taxa, distributed in 17 species, including P. instabilis whose lectotype is designated here. Only P. meridiana var. meridiana was previously recorded in aquatic systems of the state. Eighteen taxa are newly recorded for Goiás, and one is the first record in Brazil. The Pinnularia flora from Lago dos Tigres contains nine taxa in common with the Amazon River Basin flora, and seven other taxa that occur elsewhere in the Paraná River Basin.
Tipo: Info:eu-repo/semantics/article Palavras-chave: Blocked river valley; Pinnularia meridian; Pinnularia instabilis; Lectotypification; Central-western Brazil.
